Attendance Policy
The objective of the ensemble is to perform to the best of its ability, which can't happen if people are absent or arriving late. Please be on time and attend all rehearsals and performances.
If there is a conflict, please communicate the conflict IN WRITING to the director at least 2 days in advance. In the event of illness, please provide a note with a parent signature within 1 day of your return to school.
Three unexcused absences will result in removal from the ensemble and the student will receive an 'F' on their report card for the class. No exceptions.
Rehearsal Information
Regular rehearsals will take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 7am in the BCHS Band Room. Please be ready to play AT 7am, arrive a few minutes early to get set up. Additional rehearsals may be added on other mornings if needed. Advance notice will be given.
Student Expectations
- Must keep track of their music.
- Any lost music will be subject to a replacement fee of $3 per page!
- Make sure their instrument is in proper working condition.
- Purchase and have enough supplies on hand.
- Reeds, valve oil, slide oil, drum sticks, etc.
- Must be a responsible member of the ensemble by coming to rehearsals prepared musically.
- Translation--> PRACTICE!!! Know your parts!
- Must be in good standing academically.
- BCHS Activities guidelines will be followed.
- Must be in good standing behaviorally.
- No ISS, detention, etc.
- Must have a good attitude and good rehearsal etiquette.
- Observe the 'no hack' policy.
- Respect the teaching staff.
- Respect other students.
- Be Respectful of all Equipment.
- Put away assigned equipment after each rehearsal.
- Keep the room clean-no pop, food, candy, gum, etc.
