University of Minnesota - Morris Jazz Festival 2010
TBD - Early April
As many of the jazzers know, Dr. Jim Carlson - aka "Doc" retired this past spring from the U of M - Morris. He was there for over 30 years and really built the jazz program there to be one of the best around. He was also the driving force behind the EXTREMELY successful jazz festivals that featured VERY big-time artists for the past 30 something years.
Attending this festival has been something the BC Jazzers have known and loved for the past 8 years. As a group, we will have to decide if this is something we'd like to attend again, even though Doc isn't there and it may or may not even happen, OR try and find a different jazz festival somewhere and take an overnight trip somewhere new.
Again, this will be a GROUP decision that we will all make together after having a few discussions, thinking about it, and exploring our options. If anyone has any ideas or thoughts, please contact me anytime. Thanks!
